How we spent our Christmas weekend, 2016

Christmas weekend went so fast! Why, why does that always happen? The hype, the excitement, the anticipation all month, even longer in some cases, and all the sudden it culminates on one day and then before you know it, it's over. I swear, the day felt like 6 hours and then it was bedtime. But we made the most of it.

Christmas Eve Eve we went to Mt. Falcon for a little hike. Lachlan didn't want to sit on the rocks.

Christmas Eve we packed the stroller with peppermint bark and candy canes and walked to the playground because it was unseasonably warm. At night, we left a few toys out for Lachlan unwrapped and ready to go which were the ones from Santa. The rest from us were wrapped.

Christmas day we stayed home, woke up around 8. We brought Lachlan downstairs and he immediately crawled over to the unwrapped toys and started playing with them. Bri and I opened presents (Lachlan doesn't really care about that part yet but he did enjoy his toys once they were unwrapped), had cinnamon buns for breakfast, scallops for lunch, and steak for dinner. We FaceTimed with family and watched Christmas movies. It was chill. And now I'm sad it's all over!

  1. What a lovely, low-key Christmas... although I am sure you'd have liked to spend it with family.

  2. yea, it stinks that we are far away from family but traveling around the holidays is the worst. we'll make a trip home sometime in the spring :)

  3. Sounds like a lovely Christmas to me! Glad you guys enjoyed your holiday! I agree, it always seems to blow by in a blink despite all the prep and build up.
