Slouchy baby beanie - Free crochet pattern

Winter in Colorado decided to overstay her welcome, and the last storm in April lasted 4 consecutive days, which is really unheard of around here. But it made me feel all cozy if I pretended it was Christmastime, so I crocheted some hats for my little man. This is a great stash buster project!

Here's a super easy crochet pattern for a slouchy beanie to fit babies 3-6 months old, or on heads up to 17 inches in circumference.

Materials:

Any soft worsted weight yarn (I used Cascade sateen worsted yarn, which is on the lighter end of worsted)
4mm hook
Scissors
Yarn needle
Measuring tape

Notes:
Each round is joined with a slip stitch into the top of the first dc.
The ch2 at the start of each new round does not count as a stitch.
The first 2 dc's of each round are done in the same stitch as the ch2. This really hides the seam.
You want the flat part of your circle to be about 5 inches in diameter before you stop increasing. Please adjust your hook size to acquire this measurement.
You can add or remove rounds (between round 6-14) to adjust the length of hat, therefore the amount of "slouch." My hat is 7 inches long which gives it a little slouch in the back.

Pattern (US terms):

Rnd 1: 12 dc in magic loop, sl st to join in top of first dc (12 st)

Rnd2: Ch2, 2dc in same st, 2dc in next st and each st around; join (24 st)

Rnd3: Ch2, 2dc in same st, dc in next st, *2dc in next st, dc in next st* ; join (36 st)

Rnd4: Ch2, 2dc in same st, dc in next 2 sts, *2dc in next st, dc in next 2 sts* ; join (48 st)

Rnd5: Ch2, 2dc in same st, dc in next 3 sts, *2dc in next st, dc in next 3 sts* ; join (60 st)

Rnds 6-14: Ch2, dc in same st, dc in each st around; join (60 st)

If you are making the color block hat, change colors at the 9th round

Rnd 15: Ch2, dc in same st, dc in next 2 sts, *dc2tog, dc in next 3 sts* ; join, FO (48 st)
