My first OwlCrate April 2016 - Unboxing and Review

If ever there was a bookish subscription box to be super pumped about, it's OwlCrate! My sister and I both signed up last month and have been impatiently waiting for our first boxes to arrive ever since. This month's theme was Dystopia.

Let me tell you quick how OwlCrate works:

For $29.99 a month (or slightly less if you choose a 3 or 6 month subscription) you will receive a box tailored to a young adult theme (ie: dystopia, love, paranormal, etc). Each box contains one (mostly hardcover) book as well as 3-5 other bookish keepsakes that go along with that month's theme. All books contained in your OwlCrate are books that were published within the last 45 days so you are nearly guaranteed to not already have the same book. They will tell you the theme before you pay so you can chose to skip or renew if you'd like. They ship worldwide!

Now let's see what's inside April's Dystopia themed box:

This month's book is Flawed, by Cecelia Ahern ($18.99 value)

The society depicted within the pages of Flawed believes that obedience is of the utmost importance, and any rebellion is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply with the rules will strip you of your rights and leave you branded as a "flawed" citizen.

Also included is a letter from Cecelia....

a notebook from Manuscript which features artwork from the UK first edition of 1984 by George Orwell ($6.99 value) and a WICKED decal from The Maze Runner series by Shailey Ann Designs ($7.50 value)…

a Shatter Me inspired coaster designed by Evie Bookish ($9.97 value)…

a Mockingjay bracelet from The Geeky Cauldron ($8)…

a minimalist magnet inspired by The Hunger Games trilogy ($1 value, a guesstimate) from Half Blood Prints, and an exclusive mini poster from Cecelia Ahern.

Total value of box: $52.45Total savings: $22.46!

If you'd like to sign up for your own OwlCrate subscription, I'd love for you to use my referral link. You'll also get %10 percent off your first box with code HH10. May's theme is Steampunk!

I really really loved this box. It's probably one of my top three favorite subscriptions. I can't wait to start reading Flawed. It has a Goodreads rating of 3.91 and it looks like there's a 2nd book, Perfect, in the series being published in 2017. I love books that come in a series. You can tell a lot of thought went into choosing just the right products to go along with the book and its theme. I definitely plan on getting another OwlCrate. Treat yo self!

I was not compensated for this post. I purchased this OwlCrate myself.

  1. I've been wanting to try OwlCrate for awhile now! Maybe I'll sign up when I move - it looks like a great box. Also, I decided to start blogging again and am joining in with your Good Things series. I really like reading it and think it'll help put things in perspective for me. :)
