Crochet Mood Blanket - March's progress

I'm finally starting to join my squares because I have no where else to store them so I might as well start to consolidate!

I currently have 64 squares (only 44 more to go) and am joining them with a whip stitch in the back loops. I purposely kept a super long tail with the white when finishing off and I weaved it through to the corner so I can just pick up 2 squares and stitch them together without having to join on with new yarn.

I had a mini meltdown because I'm joining the long rows with a slip stitch so the two seams look different and I freaked. But I took some time to think about it and asked what people thought on Instagram and I decided I'm going to keep it the way it is.

Here's the squares I did in March. I'm not stressing about keeping up with one square a day. That's impossible! I'm starting to think about borders now. Do you have any favorite blanket borders?

  2. Those squares are gorgeous! I'm still trying to master the basic granny square, I can't imagine making one that complex. :)

  3. Great tip about leaving the long end to stitch them together with, i'll have to try and remember that myself.
