10 things I learned in 2013

I'm back! It was nice taking a little break from always feeling like I need to post something here. I actually didn't miss it as much as I thought I would. It gave me some time to build up some new post ideas. The holidays in blogland always make me feel overwhelmed with all the posts on recaps and resolutions and reevaluating your blog space. Those things always make me feel bad about myself that I didn't do as much as I would have liked to in the last year. So instead of a post on what I hope to accomplish this year (because those lists are just setting yourself up for failure in my opinion), I'm going to share 10 things that I learned/have come to accept in 2013.
  • It's not about the space between houses, but what kind of people your neighbors are.
  • I can survive without cable TV but I cannot survive without our Roku box.
  • A seemingly safe and secure job can be ripped out from under you at any moment so save your damn money and have a plan B, C, D, and E.
  • If you want something, just ask for it. No one is a mind reader (or in other words, most people lack common sense).
  • Blog friends are some of the best friends.
  • I've come to accept that I will probably never have a career and I am ok with that...for the most part.
  • I am starting to love the magic of Christmas again because of my baby nieces.
  • I'm getting slightly better at blocking out negative people and their affect on me.
  • It is possible to survive without being on medication for my anxiety and migraines.
  • No matter what, I will never have enough yarn. AND I'M NOT SORRY!
